Post QuakeCon thoughts

Another year of QuakeCon has come and gone and I’m left wanting more as usual.

This year was the 20th anniversary of the event, but it didn’t feel like it. Sure, there was a lot going on, but it didn’t feel Big/Huge. It was fun, don’t get me wrong at all. With our press access, Scott’s QdQ access and Jerry’s hotel room it was bigger than last year for sure. But I expected more, more press, more involvement, more free swag like in years past.

Maybe it’s just my time involved in the event both as a spectator, presser and volunteer (at times) that have left me with a jaded view.

We did have a blast. We had a follower join us at our table for the event and game with us as well and I wouldn’t have asked for anything less.

In the end, I think I’m going to aim to volunteer more next year, along w press/byoc access. I suspect that’ll help put things back in perspective for me.

Until next years QuakeCon…
